DRAW BOOSTS FAREHAM SURVIVAL BID

Fareham twice went ahead only to have their advantage cancelled out by fourth placed National Hockey League Western Conference rivals Old Georgians, who forced a 2-2 draw at Henry Cort yesterday.
Alex Boxall and James Evans scored in each half to give Fareham the lead, but a James Tindall penalty stroke seven minutes from time gave Georgians a draw.
Relegation rivals Bristol University, Chichester and Isca all lost, leaving Fareham needing a win against the West Country students on Saturday to move out of the drop zone.
Winchester’s South League promotion hopes improved when Premier Division 2 leaders Oxford University lost 3-2 to Staines.
Winchester drew 2-2 at the bottom club Holcombe, while Trojans sank deeper into trouble with a 6-1 hiding from visiting West Hampstead.
