9/30/2020 1 Comment Early goals win it for SouthamptonThree goals in the opening 20 minutes laid the path for Southampton’s 4-2 South Women’s League Division 3B win over Horsham at the Sports Centre.
Abi Woodcock got the show on the road, the first from a short corner and the second after a move with Lou Hopkins. Bernie Jones made it 3-0 before Horsham launched a comeback and clawed two goals back before half-time. Southampton needed a fourth goal and got it through Zoe Stride. Winchester beat Lewes 2-0, relegated Trojans lost 2-0 at Oxted and the promoted New Forest came out on the wrong side of a seven-goal thriller, losing 4-3 at Brighton & Hove, where Lia Waine, Lynn Jones and Rachel Lloyd were on target.
