Two-down at half-time, Trojans were always chasing the game against newly promoted Wycombe and despite a second half comeback were beaten 3-2 in their South Premier Division 2 opener at Stoneham Lane.
Sam Burroughs and Lukas Quereshe gave last season’s MBBO winners a 2-0 interval advantage, which Dave McNee reduced from a short corner early in the second period. Wycombe, coached by former Great Britain international Ian Sloan, quickly restored their two-goal advantage through Stephen Sloan. Chris Jackson capped his Trojans return from Winchester by converting a late penalty corner, but it was too little too late for the Stoneham side.

Hi - as Ian's mum it came as a surprise to see you thought he had retired from GB - at only 23 and one of the cocaptains I hope he has have many years of International Hockey left in him. 😀
