Let’s do it all again !
That’s the message from head coach Ben Barnes as Fareham head into a demanding weekend England Hockey Western Conference double. Fareham produced one of their best WC performances when they put five unanswered goals past Chichester last Sunday – but a Saturday visit to Team Bath Buccaneers and Sunday’s derby with second placed Havant at Henry Cort (1.30) look different propositions. Barnes’s side have never beaten Team Bath, while Havant squeezed a 2-1 win when Fareham visited in the autumn. Chichester, meanwhile, face an awesome task away to WC leaders Olton & West Warwicks. In the South Premier League, Winchester will expect to build on last week’s fine 3-2 win over promotion chasing Old Cranleighians when they visit basement side Henley. There’s a big Saturday double at Stoneham lane, where Trojans ladies host Isca (noon), with the men playing West Hampstead in a second v third joust immediately after.
