Fareham will give a debut to a Peruvian international and Havant a Portuguese in Sunday’s second round of National League Western Conference matches. Along with Kiwi goalkeeper Tom Mallon, Peru striker Seb Dennison (left) missed Fareham’s 5-2 defeat at Oxford Hawks due to England Hockey registration issues – but both are back for the visit to Birmingham University, who held Team Bath 0-0 last week. Ben Barnes should take a full strength side to the Midlands. Havant played well last Sunday creating good goal-scoring opportunities, but unfortunately they gave away two soft goals from defensive mistakes, which ultimately cost them the game 3-1 to visiting Olton & West Warwicks. For Sunday they will have Portuguese International Miguel Rodrigues available for selection. Miguel is a fast and skilful inside forward and will hopefully bring extra attacking expertise to the side and help contra out the loss of Maciej Janiszewski, who scored twice last weekend in his debut for Old Loughtonians. Chichester pulled off the result of the week last week thrashing Isca 7-2 and face intriguing opposition in the form of Bristol University, who surprised Cardiff Met 3-1. In the Women’s league Trojans aim to improve on last week’s disappointing 3-0 defeat at Isca when they visit Gloucester City. In the Men’s South Premier Division 1, Winchester - having won 5-2 at Indian Gymkhana – will be optimistic of beating Milton Keynes at King’s, while Trojans (4-1 winners v Eastbourne) go to Guilford, who thrashed West Hampstead 6-2.
