Fareham gave their prospects of avoiding relegation from the National Hockey League Western Conference an enormous boost with a 5-2 win at Cheltenham yesterday, sun.
They were 3-0 up inside 13 minutes and led 5-1 until shortly before the end. The win lifts Fareham three points of bottom club Bristol University and brings them into close contact with Chichester and Isca, the other sides battling to avoid an end-of-season relegation play off. Promotion chasing Winchester missed the chance of topping Premier 2 by only drawing 1-1 with West Hampstead, having thrashed Purley Walcountians 6-0.
