11/25/2018 1 Comment Havant are Christmas number two's ...Havant climbed into second place in the National League Western Conference with a fine 3-1 win over Birmingham University, who held top spot until a fortnight ago.
Lifted by a ninth minute strike by Miguel Rodrigues, Havant were 2-0 up at the break through a Federico Bertoni penalty corner. Birmingham got one back seven minutes after the break, but Bertoni wrapped it up for Havant two minutes from time. Chichester came from behind to win 2-1 at Cardiff & Met, Luke Emmett *35) and Ollie Baxter (62) scoring their second half goals. Fareham had three players sin binned in a six-minute second half spell and lost 3-2 to Bristol University – George Davey having given the hosts an early lead. Jamie Rawlings got Fareham’s second two minutes from time. Trojans ladies went down 1-0 to Investec Women’s League leaders Stourport, but the men’s team won 3-2 at London Wayfarers, with South African hit-man Snoxolo Mbekeni scoring twice. They remain second in SPL2 behind Guildford. Winchester’s miserable South Premier Division form continued with a 3-2 home defeat by Oxford University.
