Havant off mark in South League

Havant are off the mark in the South League with a 3-1 victory over basement club Brighton & Hove - their first league win since lifting the West Conference crown last Spring.
But they had to come from behind to do it - Sam Rose firing Brighton into an early lead which they held until two minutes into the second quarter when Danny Rawlings equalised.
In the 47th minute Havant took the lead with a well executed penalty corner. James Speke spinning to eliminate the first runner before passing left to Slavic Paziuk, who fired an unstoppable flick into the Brighton net.
Havant then had to soak up the Brighton pressure and defended well to keep their 2-1 lead  going into the break at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Three minutes from the end Havant scored a point clinching third goal - Slavik Paziuk converting a penalty corner with a drag flick.
Fareham beat Havant 4-2 in England Hockey's Tier 1 Cup, having led 3-0 at half-time through Oli Pemble, George Davey and Ron Santonna.
Tim Hoare pulled off numerous fine saves for Havant, who clawed a goal back through another Slavik Paziuk set piece.  Matt Dicker made it 4-1 for Fareham before Ben Miles got Havant's second.
                                                                            Fareham see Yellow in Devon
Fareham found themselves 3-0 down inside the opening 20 minutes of their West Conference visit to Ashmoor, but trimmed the Devonian side's lead to 3-2 with strikes by George Davey and Oli Pemble.
A hat-trick goal by Oli Palmer right on the third quarter break sealed Fareham's fate - the Henry Cort team losing its discipline with three late yellow cards and finishing with nine men on the pitch.
Fareham host Exeter University at Henry Cort on Sunday (1.30), while Chichester will look to build on their 8-2 defeat of bottom side Plymouth Marjon when they host Oxford Hawks.
