11/26/2019 1 Comment Moors puts fizz into 7-Up Lions ! Conor Moors bagged a first half hat-trick before taking his season’s goal tally to ten as Bournemouth thrashed Richmond 7-0 at Chapel Gate to strengthen their position in the South League Premier 1 West promotion frame. Now it’s crunch time for the Lions, whose visit to second placed Oxford & Oxford Brookes University on Saturday will be key to their prospects of a top three Christmas place. They will certainly head to the city of spires in confident mood after rocking Richmond with a five-goal first half blitz. Moors, who finished with four goals, opened Bournemouth’s account from a penalty corner before Charlie Cooper scored twice in quick succession, his first after a pacey counter-attack and the second from a rebound after Moors had hit the post from a short corner. By half-time Moors, now second highest goalscorer in SPL West, had his hat-trick and Bournemouth were 5-0 up. Moors got his fourth after the break, with Canterbury teen Hugo Creaney-Birch making it 7-0. The win strengthened Bournemouth’s hold on fourth place, five points behind leaders Staines ahead of Saturday’s potentially season-defining visit to Oxford.
