Southampton ladies were kicking themselves after allowed a three-goal interval lead to slip at Horsham, where West Sussex side scored twice soon after the break and then snatched a last gasp 3-3 South Women’s League Division 3B equaliser.
The visitors began well with fluid passing, Zoe Stride setting up Bernie Jones for an early reverse stick opener. Some great passing round the back and up the lines saw more opportunities created and the influential Naomi Bulkeley double the lead with a deflection from Rach Maunder’s pass. With more good work, passing and a strong run along the base, Sue Merry delivered e ball into the D and Olivia Mahoney made it 3-0. Three-down, Horsham stepped up and with a changed game plan twice pulled goals back, climaxing a grand fightback with a last minute equaliser.
