Havant retained the Hampshire Cup with a 2-1 win over a youthful Fareham side in a county final played in the sweltering heat of Aldershot's Army Hockey Centre. Goalkeeper Chris Bristow produced a string of fine saves to keep Fareham at bay in towards the end of a goal-less first half – two were superb efforts to keep out Jamie Rawlings’ penalty corners. Soon after half-time Rory Marsh produced some magical midfield skills to open the door for teenager Ethan Hoddle to put Havant in front – a lead Chris Davey soon cancelled out with a scrambled equaliser. Sam Hatherley, pictured by Neil Marshall, hit Havant’s winner.
