If its goals you want to see, then Fareham ladies are clearly the team to watch !
They’ve rattled up 23 in their opening three South Women’s League Division 3B matches – Heather Batten scoring ten of the 20 of they’ve bagged on their two away days. Fareham opened the season with an 11-goal demolition of Tulse Hill & Dulwich – Heather Batten, a summer signing from National League neighbours Trojans, scoring five times on her debut - and then beat arch local rivals Havant 3-1. Next up for a pasting from Steve Lemon’s starlets were Haslemere – Heather Batten celebrating a second nap hand as Fareham romped to a 9-1 win. Vicky Field started the ball rolling in the fifth minute for Fareham and, either side of Batten’s first, got her second. By half-time Batten had completed her hat-trick. Haslemere 0 Fareham 5. Lemon’s oranges tasted sweet ! Two more goals by Batten plus singles from Hannah Oldham (arguably the best of the lot) and Rachael Millington-Clark completed the rout for Fareham, who go to Horsham this Saturday.
