10/14/2025 0 Comments Trojans are penalty corner kingsTrojans' efficient penalty corner routines led to five of their goals in the 6-1 beating of Southern Central League hockey rivals Oxford University at Stoneham Lane.
Sam MacKenzie, Ben Frost and Oakley Sparshott-Thompson scored from short corners, the latter bagging Trojans' sixth from a penalty stroke. The win keeps Trojans on top of the log on goal difference from South Berkshire. MacKenzie got Trojans opening two goals before Will Silver clawed one back for the Dark Blues. A Frost short corner brace put Trojans 4-1 ahead before Oakley Sparshott-Thompson scored twice in 90 seconds. Josh Fiske scored twice before Andy Pett scored a third in Basingstoke's 3-0 win over Winchester, while Ben Partridge and Harry West secured a 2-1 win for Bournemouth, who came from behind to beat Haslemere. Promoted Fareham II went down 6-3 at Amersham, where Cam Duncan, James Seager and Luke Gould were on target.
