Trojans ladies are back on top of the Investec Women’s Western Conference – but they’ll need a massive helping hand this weekend if they are to prise the championship out of Stourport’s grasp.
A 3-0 win at Cannock enabled Trojans to nick the leadership away from snow-hit Stourport on minimal goal difference, but they will need the West Midlands side to lose one of their two games this weekend if they are to snatch the crown. A goal in each half by Imogen Lea, either side of a Jenny Peebles penalty corner conversion, earned Trojans the corn at Cannock. Now Trojans must thump relegated Team Bath at Stoneham Lane on Saturday (2pm) and hope Stourport – 3-2 winners over Isca, but snowed off against Bath – lose to Olton & West Warwicks. Stourport play Bath on Sunday.
