Winchester are through to the England Hockey Under-14 Boys finals after victories over Clifton College, Bournemouth and Team Bath in the regional play-offs in Bristol.
They came from behind to beat Clifton 2-1 in their opening game, Max Wedderburn and Dom Fernando scoring to cancel out a 1-0 deficit. Ollie Lander scored twice, initially from a penalty flick and later a decisive short corner, to give Winchester a 2-0 win against Bournemouth, who drew their first match with Team Bath. Winchester completed a clean sweep by beating Bath 2-1 - Henry Crompton converting a penalty corner for a half-time lead, which was cancelled out. Winchester had to demonstrate their defensive prowess before Wedderburn deflected home their winner. Winchester Under-14 squad was: Ollie Lander, Joe Jenkinson, Henry Crompton, Dom Fernando, Tommy Weatherell, Matt De Lara, Alfie Marsh, Thomas Talks, Blake Sanderson, Finn Kilpatrick, Max Wedderburn, Tommy Finney, Jack Hobkirk, Harry Loveridge, Josh Long.
