Winchester cornered at Fareham

​A seventh minute penalty corner strike was sufficient to give South Women's League Division 3B pacesetters Fareham a 1-0 win over Winchester at Henry Cort.
Heather Batten got the faintest of touches to a shot by Lynda Rowswell to deflect the ball home.
Improving with every game, promoted Winchester proved a tough nut to crack, with Sarah Johns a threat.  She went close from a second half short corner, while Laura Pendleton saw a set piece of her own beaten out.
Zoe Stride notched her maiden SWL hat-trick as Southampton won 4-1 at Horsham (Lou Hopkins got the other one), a penalty stroke giving the Railway Triangle cricket ace her threesome.
Alice Worsley matched Stride's feat with a hat-trick of her own as Havant came from behind to smash Hailsham 6-1, Charlie Gammon scoring twice.
